The Ministry of Justice informs you that access and use of the website www.mjusticia.es, along with that of all the subdomains and directories contained within the site (hereinafter, referred to jointly as the Portal), as well as the services and contents that can be obtained through the site, are subject to the terms and conditions described in this Legal Notice, although access to some of the services or contents may require acceptance of additional General Terms and Conditions.

Therefore, if you do not accept the terms and conditions described in this Legal Notice, we request that you refrain from using the Portal, as use of the website or of the services and contents that it contains implies acceptance of the legal terms and conditions stated hereunder.

The Ministry of Justice reserves the right to make changes in this Portal without prior notice, for the purpose of updating, rectifying and modifying its contents, as well as adding and deleting items or altering the design of the website. The contents and services posted on the Portal are updated regularly. The updating of information is not instantaneous, and therefore we recommend that you verify the validity and accuracy of the information, services and contents contained on the Portal at all times.

The terms and conditions contained in this Notice may vary and for this reason we invite you review these terms each time you visit the Portal. The Ministry of Justice assumes no responsibility for damages that may result from the use of tools or information contained in www.mjusticia.es used for adopting decisions relative to initiating or carrying out administrative proceedings or the outcome of these proceedings. These decisions must be verified by competent administrative centres, agencies or departments. In no case may the information and contents of this Website be alleged in disputes with the Public Administration, which assumes no responsibility for any discrepancies that may exist between the printed documents of the competent Administration and the electronic publication of these pages.

The design of the Portal, along with its source codes, logos, brands and any other distinctive symbols that appear on the site, are the property of the Ministry of Justice, or collaborating entities, and are protected by the corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights. Likewise, images and other similar objects contained on the Ministry of Justice server are also protected by the corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

Any use, reproduction, distribution, public dissemination, transformation or any other similar or identical activity is strictly prohibited without the express authorisation of the Ministry of Justice. The license granted to the user for the use of the contents of this Portal is limited to downloading this content solely for personal use, provided that the contents are kept intact.

The Ministry of Justice provides access to other web pages that it believes may be useful or interesting. The sole objective of these links is to assist users in the online search for useful resources. However, these pages do not belong to the Portal, and no review is made of their content, therefore no responsibility is assumed for the operation of the linked page or any damages that may result from its access or use.

No links or e-mail addresses on other web pages may direct to the Portal, without the express written authorisation from the Ministry of Justice. At any time, the Ministry of Justice may withdraw the aforementioned authorisation, without the need to allege any particular grounds. PRIVACY

The Ministry of Justice is the body in charge of the database file generated by the personal information supplied by users of the www.mjusticia.es portal. In accordance with Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December on Personal Data Protection, the Ministry of Justice recognises the obligation to maintain the secrecy of personal information and to keep all the information it processes confidential. For this purpose, it will adopt the necessary measures to prevent any alteration, loss, or unauthorised access or processing of this information.

The ultimate purpose of the automated collection and processing of personal information is to help manage, render and improve the services required by users at any given time and to follow-up on user inquiries.

At any time, users may exercise their right to access, rectify, cancel or oppose this information in-person by contacting the IT and Information Department - División de Información y Tecnologías de la Información - located at C/San Bernardo 45, 28071 MADRID (Spain) or, in writing, to the same address, accompanied by a photocopy of their Spanish National ID Card (DNI). You have the option to exercise the right to access, rectify, cancel or oppose the information contained in the MINISTRY OF JUSTICE's database, through requests sent by any means, which offer proof of mailing and receipt. To exercise your rights, you may write to the address of the IT and Information Department (División de Información y Tecnologías de la Información) of the Ministry of Justice mentioned at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

The MINISTRY OF JUSTICE maintains personal data protection levels compliant with ROYAL DECREE 1720/2007, of 21 December, which approves the Rules for the implementation of Organic Law 15/1999, of 13 December, on personal data protection and has installed all the technical resources within its means to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised access or theft of the information supplied to the MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, although Internet security measures are not impregnable.

The MINISTRY OF JUSTICE reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy in order to adapt it to any new laws, legal precedents or interpretations established by the Spanish Data Protection Agency. In this case, THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE will announce these changes, with due advance notice of the modifications effected, and request, if necessary, the user's acceptance of these changes.

APPLICABLE LEGISLATION AND JURISDICTION

In the event of a dispute or disagreement regarding the interpretation of the terms and conditions that comprise this Legal Notice, as well as any other matters related to the services of this Portal, the applicable legislation shall be that of Spain.

With respect to the resolution of any disputes that may arise as a result of visits to the Portal or use of the services which it provides, the Ministry of Justice and the User agree to submit themselves to the Judges and Courts of Law of the user's place of residence, as long as this is located in Spain.
